Noisy Gallery is an exhibition focused around the Outsider Art movement. The first step of this project was to choose a name for the gallery and create a logo out of it. The reason behind the name Noisy was that more often than not this art movement is heavily associated with the mentally ill, but I wanted to shine a light on the idea that regardless of the noise inside these individuals, art can always be an escape from it. For the logo, after some experimenting I decided to go with the negative of each letter in the word Noisy, altering the edges so it would have a more “flowy” and natural aspect. After developing the logo, we had to create a poster. I created a series of 5 posters, that next to each other would form the logo. The idea behind the scribbled spaces in the posters was once again to emulate a very common characteristic in some Outsider Art.
